If you receive an error that driver is in use, try these steps:Ĥ) Now type Control Panel in Start Search, open CP, choose Icon View. Follow these steps:ġ) Power up the printer, if wired unplug it's USB cable from PC.Ģ) Go to Settings>Apps>Apps and Features to find and Uninstall any printer software.ģ) Use one of these methods to remove all of the old printer drivers: Windows still needs the full feature software to properly run all the features of a printer/scanner, just a driver and/or the new apps are not mature enough to be fully reliable. I would Clean Install the printer which always works, lasts longer and actually saves time.

Make sure you have the latest full printer software and firmware updated for printer from here: Īre you following these steps for Creating Custom ICC Profiles for Color Photos on HP Printers: I would also ask this question in the HP forums which are quite good, since this is their printer. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you. So the profile itself works, but "Color Management" doesn't apply it to the print data. But when I use ExifPro (which has built-in color profiling) and I select my profile there, the printout changes (as it should). Went to "Color Management" in Control Panel ICC to "C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color" And as I've read, that is what "Color Management" should be good for. I don't use programs like PhotoShop that can directly apply color profiles I want the profile to be always active when printing from whatever program. But as far as I know, when I use Windows' "Color Management", that doesn't matter, because Windows should alter the datastream that gets sent to the printer driver to print (without the driver noticing). My printer driver (HP MFP479) doesn't have built-in options to apply color profiling. I got an ICC color profile for my printer and assigned it to my printer using Windows' "Color Management", but there is no change in the printout.
